The Rodeo family acquired the feud of Ceresole in 1374.
When the Roero family divides up its feuds among the various branches of the family in 1468, the existence of the castle was mentioned, and it was called, was seriously damages during the fighting that followed the Battle of Ceresole.
In those days, the castle was surrounded by a moat and protected on the side of the town square by a drawbridge and ravelin.
In 1649 part of the castle was acquired by senator Cesare Patarino from other members of the Roero family and he gradually made significant changes, adding two small wings and a wall with an entrance gate to create a small inner courtyard.
In 1676 the Patarinos' share went to the Quadro family who also acquired the rest of the castle.
The Northern and Eastern sides of the building are the oldest parts and they show traces of the many changes and alterations that have been introduced over the years.
